Call it what you want, it’s part of America’s greatness

Call it what you want, it's part of America's greatness

My good friend Bill Warriner informs me: “If memory serves, it was the Canadian Marshall McLuhan back in the 1960s who predicted (in Understanding Media) that America would destroy itself by breaking up into smaller and smaller warring tribal groups and I thought he was nuts. Now I think he was a genius.”

Yes, Bill, I agree. And how is it that others seem to understand us better than we understand ourselves?

At Last . . .

Ellen DeGeneres speakingAh, at last some ‘traditional values’ that stand up and speak clearly and aren’t code for ‘shut up and stick your head in the sand’:

“I stand for honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people the way you’d want to be treated, and helping those in need. To me, those are traditional values. That’s what I stand for. I also believe in dance.” Ellen DeGeneres, quoted on FB.
